Okay, so it's been out for a while now & yes I am a little late to jump on the bandwagon, but I finally went to see Moonrise Kingdom last night at the Rtizy in Brixton with the fine company of my wonderful mother. We LOVED it. It's one of those films where you are laughing and crying at the same time. Brilliant.
Directed and written by Wes Anderson without a doubt, Moonrise Kingdom is one of the best films I've seen this year. Bearing in mind that the last film I saw was Prometheus which in my opinion just completely confusing and positively mind numbing. (I don't think Sci-fi is for me)
I am a big fan of Wes Anderson as he has produced one of my favourite films The Royal Tenumbaums and is the writer of other films such as Life Aquatic, The Darjeeling Limited. He also wrote the screenplay for Fantastic Mr Fox which I am still yet to watch but is supposed to be brilliant. Something to do this summer.

| Moonrise Kingdom |
It has a brilliant cast including the likes of Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Ed Norton, Bruce Willis and Frances McDormand.
Set in the mid 60's Moonrise Kingdom is the story is of two 12 year old lovers named Sam Schluchsee & Suzy Bishop who run away from their New England home towns to be together, leading to a search party to break out looking for them, before a violent storm hits the island. A simple story but brilliantly executed, it's such a cute film and I guarantee you will leave the cinema smiling.
Watch the trailer!
The film is packed full of beautiful cinematography
shot in a way where you feel like you're watching a play at the theatre. The way its set, the crisp colour, scenery, music and costume designed by Kasia Walicka-Maimone are created in a way in which you forget you are watching a screen at all. I'm going to stop talking now, all you need to know is that
it's MUST SEE. Go see it.
