Leutton Postle

I have had a busy busy couple of weeks so haven't written on my blog in what feels like ages. Anyway, I have a valid excuse for this and I promise I'm not just slacking. On Monday I started a new internship at Leoutton Postle for two months, including the week leading to fashion week and fashion week itself.
Verdict: So far....
 I. Love. It.

Leutton Postle  are a London based knitwear design company made up of two life long friends, Sam Leutton and Jenny Postle. Their clothes focus on knitwear that includes a high attention to detail through various and intricate knit techniques, with a diverse colour palette & delicate applique. Their previous two collections have showcased a burst of imagination, colour, texture and creativity.

I have done a few placements before but never any involving hands on production. Most have mainly included a fair bit of admin and PR which I do enjoy but I have to admit I am the kinda girl that loves getting her hands dirty.
This placement is perfect however, it's very hands on which means I get to see the collection being made first hand and get to put my skills to good use producing parts of the collection myself, which basically means that I get to knit all day which I'm LOVING. I have learnt so much already and can happily say that my knowledge is much wider even though I have only been there for a week! So two months down the line I'm guessing my head will be about to explode as it will be FULL to the brim with creativity.
That's the plan anyway.

Yarns for the new season. BLUUUUE.

SPARKLES.

Leutton Postle were first showcased at London Fashion Week 2011 and will be producing the same
fabulous pieces for their third show this year for Autumn/Winter '13. This year I can personally tell you that there is a lot of exciting stuff coming up! Colours for the new collection have just been chosen, yarns delivered and the creation and production for this years show is well underway. Just seeing the collection yarns being delivered made me so excited and I can't wait to finally start knitting it all.

Here is a little taster of the beaut pieces these two amazing designers have to offer. From S/S 12 and

Spring/Summer '12

Autumn/Winter '12

I'm really excited to be working with them all the way through to fashion week and will be blogging about it as I go. eeeek I'm excited.

Watch this space.
